The Surprising Tool That’s Overtaken Notion on My YouTube Channel
I still love Notion but my channel viewers seem to love this tool more (and so do I!)
For years, my YouTube channel has been built around digital organization, with Notion as the star of the show. It’s the tool that helped me create systems for my business, optimize productivity, and streamline my life as someone with ADHD. But recently, something unexpected happened.
One tool has quietly surpassed Notion in views, engagement, and interest on my channel—Google Photos.
At first, I thought it was a fluke. I posted a video about organizing Google Photos, and it took off. Then another. And another. Before I knew it, my Google Photos content was outperforming my Notion videos. The data was undeniable—people were searching for ways to manage their ever-growing digital photo libraries, and they wanted clear, actionable solutions.
The Evolution of My Channel
✨ 11 Years on YouTube: Reflecting on Growth, Change, and New Directions ✨
Yesterday marked the 11th anniversary of my YouTube channel, and I’m also celebrating a major milestone—11,000 subscribers! 🎉
I started this channel in my senior year of college while pursuing a film degree, dreaming of creating meaningful content and sharing my creativity with the world. But life took me in different directions. Over the years, I pivoted into podcasting, dabbled in various projects, and ultimately returned to my love for video creation.
This wasn’t my first foray into YouTube, either. My journey actually began in 2006 when I was just 15 years old, back when YouTube was still in its infancy. Those early days planted the seed for my passion for video, even if it took me a while to fully commit.
For most of this channel’s existence, I posted sporadically—just a few videos a year, with no clear focus. But in 2021, during the pandemic, I decided to take YouTube seriously. That’s when I discovered Notion, and suddenly, everything clicked. My channel gained direction, my Notion content found an audience, and I built a real community around digital organization.
Now, four years later, I’m reflecting on another shift. While I still love Notion, the space has become more crowded. Meanwhile, my Google Photos content has taken on a life of its own.
Why Google Photos?
For many of us, our digital photo libraries are a chaotic, unmanageable mess. If you’ve ever tried to find that one vacation photo from five years ago—buried under thousands of screenshots, duplicates, and blurry pictures—you know exactly what I mean.
I’ve realized that Google Photos is one of the most powerful, yet underutilized, organization tools we have at our fingertips. It’s not just a place to store pictures—it’s an AI-powered search engine for your life. The ability to instantly find photos based on faces, locations, objects, or even text has changed the way I manage my memories.
So, in 2025, I’m expanding my YouTube content to include even more Google Photos strategies while still keeping Notion in the mix. My goal is to help people simplify their digital lives—whether it’s through structured Notion workflows or effortlessly organizing their photo libraries.
